Mexican-Style Mojito PDF Print E-mail

While Mojitos are traditionally Cuban, this recipe is a Mexican take on this old favorite.

Ingredients

*10 fresh mint leaves, plus 1 sprig for garnish
*juice of 4 key limes
*1/3 C. water
*2 Tbs. superfine sugar
*1 C. crushed ice
*1 1/2 oz. tequila

Directions

Tear mint leaves in half and place them in a cocktail shaker. Using a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon, mash leaves until bruised and fragrant.  Add lime juice, water, sugar, ice, and tequila.  Cover shaker and shake briskly.  Pour into a tall glass and garnish with a mint sprig.
