While Mojitos are traditionally Cuban, this recipe is a Mexican take on this old favorite.
Ingredients
*10 fresh mint leaves, plus 1 sprig for garnish *juice of 4 key limes *1/3 C. water *2 Tbs. superfine sugar *1 C. crushed ice *1 1/2 oz. tequila
Directions
Tear mint leaves in half and place them in a cocktail shaker. Using a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon, mash leaves until bruised and fragrant. Add lime juice, water, sugar, ice, and tequila. Cover shaker and shake briskly. Pour into a tall glass and garnish with a mint sprig.
