Beef & Sausage Cabbage Tamales PDF Print E-mail

Simple tamales that you'll love to eat!

Ingredients

*1 fresh cabbage
*1 lb. lean ground beef
*1 lb. patty sausage
*1 C. condensed tomato soup
*1 C. dry rice
*4 Tbs. chili powder
*1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Remove core from cabbage.  Separate the leaves and place in a pan of warm water.  Combine ground beef, sausage, soup, rice, chili powder, and salt. Mix well with your hands so that the ingredients are blended.  Remove cabbage leaves from the water and pat dry.  Place about 2 tablespoons of meat mixture in the middle of each cabbage leaf.  Roll up and secure with a toothpick.  Place rolls in a 9"x12" baking dish.  Bake with foil cover for 1 1/2 hours.
